     Seattle artist, Kelly Lyles, pictured above with her art car paintings and trompe l'oie furniture, will be displaying some of her humourous art car paintings, some details shown here.  Kelly is a fine artist and has been featured in a documentary on the Travel Channel called "The Car Artists" with Leopard Bernstein and friends on their way from Seattle to San Francisco.  Kelly also co-hosts the Seattle Art Car Blowout June 20th and 23rd, 2003.  Visit url:  http://www.seattleartcars.org
 

    Speedy Serendipity, Joy Johnston's art car spent her first, only and last incarnation at the Summit Country Art Car Parade in July 2000.



Beth Heller

of Crested Butte, Colorado owns "Hope Springs Eternal" a former Toyota Tercel covered with brightly covered springs and prayer flags. Hope has been in the Houston artcar parade many times and won best daily driver in 1998.  Her only car.  Beth also makes beautifully designed papier mache bowls as with most artists it's another means of raising money to travel to regional art car parades and displaying their creations. 


     Portland multi media artist, Melinda McAllister aka Lil Weeny Kween and co-hostess of the Summit County Art Car Parade, will present a digital video documentary with highlights on Portland, Oregon's car artist's Extremo the Clown, Gremchild with Kermie and Beater Bill with Jim Skynner piloting Tonka.  Speedy Serendipity and  Rocketvan, the beginning of an art vehicle on a 1997 Astro Van by Alan Rogers, http://www.rocketvan.com.

 

 


 

     Don Sweetland, Ft. Worth, Texas, a 2000 Art Car Summit parade participant with his Stoneheart art van, pictured here, a 1979 Dodge Maxivan mobile sculpture including  two solar panels mounted back-to-back on the roof.  Which charge two batteries that power neon tubes that surround the undercarriage and illuminate the tube piercing the rear of the body.  The extra voltage changes to AC which is used to power a refrigerator, computer, coffee pot or  tv and small power tools.  Don's  stone sculptures and found object pieces are a part of his repertoire and help fund his art car adventures.
